Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are the flights available all year?
A. Our operating season is from the 1st September until 30th April.
We do NOT operate flights in May, June, July and August due to the fact that the weather conditions are not suitable.
Q. What time will my Balloon Flight start?
A. Our flights are operated early in the morning at sunrise. This is when the weather conditions are the most suitable for Hot Air Balloon flights. The starting time for the flights varies throughout the season from between 5.45am to 7.00am; depending on which month you take the flight.
Q. How long does it take?
A. The Balloon Flight itself will last for approximately 1 hour. It could be slightly longer or slighter shorter depending on the weather & flight conditions.
It is best to allow approximately 3.5 – 4 hours for the total experience, including pick-up and drop to your Hotel / Accommodation.
Q. Where do we meet?
A. Our Sky Waltz vehicles will pick you up from your hotel / accommodation in Jaipur and bring you to the launch site.
Your vehicle may need to stop en-route to the launch site to pick-up some other guests that will be flying with us on that day also.
After the flight, our vehicles will be ready and waiting to drop you back to your hotel or any other convenient location in Jaipur.
The pick-up and drop service is an included part of all of our ticket options and can not be removed from the ticket inclusions in lieu of a reduced price.
Q. What time will I be picked up from my hotel / accommodation?
A. The exact time of your pick-up will be confirmed with you directly (via message, phone call or e-mail) one day prior to your Balloon Safari.
We request all guests to be ready and waiting before the specified pick-up time.
If guests are late by 5-10 minutes, then the vehicle may depart without them, resulting in their ticket being forfeited without refund.
Q. What happens if the weather is unsuitable on the day of our flight?
A. Ballooning is a weather dependent activity. The safety of our passengers is our number 1 priority at all times and regrettably sometimes our flights must be cancelled, as it is not safe to operate. It is our highly experienced Pilots that will make this decision.
If you have a Sky VISA ticket, then you have the option to take a full refund or reschedule for another available date.
If you have purchased the Non-Refundable Sky SAIL ticket, then you can speak with a member of our bookings team to reschedule your Balloon Safari for another available date.
Q. How many people will be in the Balloon?
A. We have a number of different sized Balloons that we fly each day depending on the total number of guests that have booked for that day.
Our biggest Balloon can carry up to 22 people at one time. We also have a Balloon that carries between 12-16 people and other Balloons that carry between 6-8 people each flight.
We don’t always fill the Balloons to their capacity, but this depends on the total number of guests that are booked on a particular day.
Unfortunately we do not allow for guests to choose what size Balloon they want to be in. Guests will be allocated to their Balloon based on the overall weight calculations for each Balloon.
Q. How high does the balloon fly?
A. Our highly experienced Pilots vary the height of the Balloon throughout the flight, from slowly brushing through the treetops, to capturing a spectacular aerial view from 3,500 feet.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Comfortable clothing suitable to early morning temperatures at the time of the year is required. Passengers can contact the operational staff prior to taking their flight to confirm the predicted temperatures.
Skirts and Sari’s for women are not suggested as it makes it difficult to enter the basket. Flat, comfortable, closed shoes are recommended.
Q. Do we get breakfast?
A. Tea, coffee, juices, and light refreshments will be served at the launch site. Bottled water will also be provided onboard the Balloon and in your vehicles after the flight.
We do offer a Buffet Breakfast at a 4-5 star hotel (inclusive of transportation) for an additional cost. Further information can be found on the “Special Additions” page of our website.
Q. From where do we takeoff?
A. The starting point for the flight changes each day and is totally dependent on the wind speed and wind direction on the day of the flight.
We have 8-9 different launch sites in our flying area.
Our experienced Pilot’s choose the best launch site according to the weather conditions and to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight for all the guests onboard.
